We believe very strongly in the principle of learning by doing. This philosophy has inspired us to develop an intensive 3-month teacher training program that focuses on teaching creative problem-solving skills and developing lifelong learners. When this happens early in the teacher’s career, they are equipped with the skills and resources needed to have the maximum impact on their students and fellow teachers throughout their professional life. Teachers who complete the training go on to seek employment in a range of schools in many different locations, allowing LSF to broaden its outreach beyond the most at-risk girls supported through scholarships, to improve the overall quality of the learning environment in Nepal.
