Little Sisters Story
A Journey of Growth and Global Impact at Keene State College
May 12, 2025
Nirmala, a 2019 LSF graduate, is wrapping up a truly impactful college journey and celebrating her recent graduation. While double majoring in Computer Science and Cybersecurity, with double minors in Mathematics and Entrepreneurship, Nirmala has demonstrated both academic excellence and a commitment to giving back to her community.
She worked as a research assistant on an electoral management system project and as a student assistant in the Global Education Office. One of the highlights of Nirmala’s time at Keene State has been serving as co-president of the Global Cultural Club (GCC) for the past two years. Under her leadership, GCC has thrived as a welcoming, diverse space where both domestic and international students can come together to share, celebrate, and learn about cultures from around the world. The community built through GCC has fostered genuine connection, openness, and cross-cultural understanding.
Beyond campus involvement, Nirmala has also mentored first-generation college-bound students through the Upward Bound program and has embraced leadership opportunities across various student organizations. She also participated in immersive academic travel, including visits to South Korea and China as part of her Honors coursework.
Nirmala’s time at Keene State has been marked by curiosity, growth, and a dedication to making a difference both inside and outside the classroom. Prior to graduation this past weekend, Nirmala was awarded the KSC Outstanding Leadership Award and an Outstanding Senior Service Award. Congratulations Nirmala! Your LSF family is proud of you and the positive impact you are having on those around you!
