For 28 years, Little Sisters Fund has empowered at-risk girls through safety, education, and opportunity. In that time, more than 4,000 Little Sisters have gained the education, confidence, and support they need to build brighter futures. We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment!

Recently, one of our earliest Little Sister alumni reminded us of something special about LSF's early years. When the program was smaller, it was easier to create a close-knit family where girls formed lasting friendships and remained connected long after graduation. As we've grown to serve more girls, preserving that same sense of belonging has become more challenging.

As we launch our Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies initiative, we are renewing our commitment to building those lifelong connections. Strong relationships with fellow Little Sisters, Coordinating Mentors, and LSF staff help create a supportive community where every girl feels valued and knows they are never alone.

To strengthen that community, we are revitalizing our letter-writing program, creating more opportunities for girls to connect, and expanding fun activities that build friendships and lasting memories. Our goal is for every Little Sister to leave LSF with not only an education, but also a lifelong family of encouragement, belonging, and support.

Little Sister Spotlight: Prasidhi

When Prasidhi was three years old, her parents moved from their home district of Kavre to Kathmandu so Prasidhi could attend a good school. After Prasidhi’s little sister was born, it became very difficult for her family to make ends meet on her father’s salary as a store clerk. He was able to find work as a security guard where his income was higher, but it was still not enough to cover the family’s basic expenses. Prasidhi’s parents were considering withdrawing her from school until a family friend suggested they apply to LSF for help with Prasidhi’s school fees.

Prasidhi is a smart girl who loves going to school and especially likes playing on the playground with friends. She enjoys solving math equations but finds science more challenging. At home, she helps her mother with small chores such as washing dishes. In her free time, she enjoys dancing and spending time with her little sister. She wants to be a police officer when she grows up.

Welcome to our new Alumni Development Team!

Dipika, a 2020 Little Sisters Fund graduate, joined LSF as Alumni Coordinator in July. She is responsible for strengthening relationships with alumni, increasing engagement, and fostering lasting connections between graduates and the organization. Before joining LSF, she spent two and a half years in Human Resources. A Kathmandu native, Dipika holds a bachelor's degree in social work and enjoys singing, dancing, writing poetry and volunteering in her free time.

Dimpal, a 2024 Little Sisters Fund graduate, was hired as LSF's Alumni Assistant in April. She works alongside Dipika to support alumni programs and activities while collaborating with staff throughout the organization on a variety of programs and projects. Before joining Little Sisters Fund, she worked as an accountant and market representative. Dimpal is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in business studies. Outside of work, she enjoys reading and learning new things every day.
